Language References

This is an attempt to index the large number of materials which provide
reference to the language of the Elizabethan period. For the most part
this is overkill; a faire worker needs a presentable pronunciation and
a basic vocabulary set. This sort of basic linguistic skill should be
obtainable through the pronunication practices, basic vocabulary, and
Introductory References.
The volume of material is large; a simple query for "English language --
Early modern, 1500-1700" produced over 300 records from the UC melvyl system.
Note that many of the references are true scholarly texts and may be
available only at Universities or large libraries.
Films: "The Story of English" that appeared on PBS.
